Miško Šuvaković is a theorist and ex-conceptual artist. He works and lives in Belgrade. Šuvaković was a co-founder and member of conceptual artistic Group 143 (1975 - 1980), and a co-founder and member of the informal theoretic and artistic "Community for Space Investigation" (1982–1989). He has participated in TkH – tehory platform from October 2000. From 1988 he has been a member of the Slovenian Aesthetic Society. Šuvaković teaches aesthetics and theory of art at the Faculty of Music and theory of art and culture at the University of Art (both Belgrade). Šuvaković is the co-editor of the magazines Katalog 143 (Belgrade, 1975–78), Mentalni prostor (Belgrade, 1982-1987), Transkatalog (Novi Sad, 1995-1998), Teorija koja hoda (Walking Theory, Belgrade, from 2001), Kultura (Beograd, from 2004), Razlika (Difference, Tuzla, 2002), Anomalija (Novi Sad, 2004), Sarajevske sveske (Sarajevo, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Beograd, Skoplje, 2006). He has co-edited Postmodernism and the Postsocialist Condition: Politicized Art under Late Socialism (2003) and Impossible Histories: Historic Avant-Gardes, Neo-Avant-Gardes, and Post-Avant-Gardes in Yugoslavia, 1918-1991 (2006).

This podcast was delivered as a lecture at a recent conference at the University of Chicago's Center for East European and Russian/Eurasion Studies (New Histories of Modern Art: The East European Avant-Gardes, 4-6 February 2010).
